The Castalla and Campello Walkers are a group of friends who enjoy the pleasures of walking in the beautiful mountainous countryside which surrounds us in this province. Our group is multi-national with English, Spanish and several other nationality walkers.
Our walking season extends from September through June each year during which time we enjoy a varied programme of walks to suit anyone with a modicum of fitness (intending participants should check details of individual walks to ensure suitabilty).
Our initial meeting places are normally the Ball and Chain roundabout at the southern entrance to Castalla town (around 30 kms inland from Alicante) and the Policia Local building in El Campello. From here we generally group car share to the walk startpoint.
Everyone is welcome to join us and there are no fees for participating other than car-share costs. It should be noted that all walks are undertaken at the participants own risk and you must have appropriate insurance. For reasons of safety no dogs are permitted.
Details of our walks are published in a programme which is published three times a year and lists the walks, distance, height gain, degree of difficulty and any alternative meeting points. This is available by email to all walkers. If you wish to receive details of forthcoming walks email Bill at [email protected]
The group also enjoy social lunches during the year with raffles at these generating funds for local charities
Walkers will also have access to our Facebook Page (Castalla and Campello Walkers) where we share info and photographs and our Whatsapp group used for up to the minute info.
